Melvin Jones Fellowship Award- Lions Club International highest honor bestowed upon a member.

The Salisbury-Wicomico Lions Club would like to announce that President Bob Hortie has received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. The Melvin Jones Fellowship Award is named after the founder of the Lions Club International and is the highest honor bestowed upon a member. The award was established to recognize individuals' commitment to humanitarian service.

The Salisbury-Wicomico Lions Club nominated Bob Hortie to acknowledge his 30 years of service as a Lion. Lion Bob has served as President of the Salisbury-Wicomico Lions Club for the past two years, 2004 and 2005; and has worked on many worthy Lions projects over the years. His most rewarding accomplishment as a Lion was the co-founding and start-up of Lions Camp Merrick, a summer camp for deaf, blind and diabetic children. Lions Camp Merrick is located in Nanjemoy, Charles County, Maryland on 320 acres along the Potomac River. The Camp is now in it's 25th year of operation.
